Research
Uncovering the Unseen
We arrived in Vulci armed with around sixty thousand dollars worth of equipment to investigate ancient landscapes. Over the next three weeks, we performed various research with the equipment and became masters of each. The equipment was used anywhere from tombs in the necropolis to fields being scanned for structures hidden underground. In the following pages, we have detailed our progress and results as we tinkered with the equipment and software programs for interpretation. Much of what we’ve accomplished is the first of it’s kind: using technology for archaeological research to generate digital data of Vulci’s landscape.
